Shelter Update Meeting/AGM
Thursday 28 January 2021, 7-8:30pm, on Zoom
You are invited to the Shelter Update Meeting (including the AGM, our annual meeting) for the Bromley Homeless Shelter. This is our chance to update you on how we have been continuing to help homeless people in Bromley during the coronavirus pandemic, which has led to many changes to the way we have had to operate this winter. We will also discuss future plans and answer any of your questions.
The brief, formal AGM will take place at the start of the Shelter Update Meeting and is expected to last about 15 minutes.
The draft Annual Report and Accounts for the financial year 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2020 is available here.
The Members' Resolution on the merger with LATCH which will be voted on at the AGM is here.
We will send out the Zoom link for the meeting on Monday 25 January 2021.
Thank you for your support for the Bromley Homeless Shelter's work. You may have been wondering what will happen this year. We are unsure whether we are able to run a night shelter this winter due to Coronavirus.
As an alternative to the Shelter, homeless people may be placed in temporary accommodation, such as hostels and hotels, working closely with the London Borough of Bromley and other charitable organisations. In this case, we would be providing meals and moral support to these people in addition to our normal advice service, so we will still need volunteers for this, especially if you have a car for transport.
We have opened registration so we can be responsive to the needs of those we help. If you wish to volunteer, please carefully consider the risks to yourself before registering.
Please see our "Want to Help/ winter season volunteer" page to register
Our mission at the Bromley Homeless Shelter is to give homeless people and those at risk of homelessness, advice and support. In addition, during the winter months we give the homeless a warm safe place to sleep and a hot meal.
