The Bromley Homeless Shelter is a project run by Bromley Churches to help homeless people, giving preference to those who have a connection to Bromley Borough.
We are supported by a number of local churches, businesses and many local residents.
Welfare Advice
On Tuesday and Thursday, between 10am and 2pm, we offer an advice service on benefits and homelessness at the United Reformed Church in Widmore Road, Bromley. It is best to phone or email us for an appointment, but you can just drop in, though we may not have much time immediately to discuss your situation in detail.
Night Shelter
During the coldest and most difficult time of the year (November to March), we operate 2 Night Shelters for homeless people in Bromley Borough, one in Central Bromley and one in the North-West of the Borough. In the evenings we share a meal together in a church. Our guests then sleep overnight in a warm, safe hall and in the morning are served a hot or cold breakfast. During the mornings, we try to create opportunity to meet up with other support and advice services. There are no exclusions due to sex, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, race, nationality, religion, or belief. However, there are no special arrangements for couples.
No smoking, drugs or alcohol are allowed on the premises.
For information on the day-to-day running of the shelter, please see Want to Help / Winter season volunteers
Guests who find accommodation are offered Starter Packs which provide them with basic household items through an associate charity (Please follow this link if you have linen or other household items to donate).
